Art & Poetry Project: Celebrating Women’s Voices Across Ohio
In 2024, Women of Ohio launched a statewide art and poetry project spotlighting the creativity of women from diverse communities across the state. Supported by Greater Columbus Arts Council, the project commissioned six poets, and featured other writers and visual artists in an open call seeking work commemorating women from Ohio.
The work culminated in a vibrant public celebration at the Columbus Book Festival, where selected poems and artworks were shared through a live event and digital storytelling. This project amplified underrepresented voices and created space for women’s stories to be shared, honored, and preserved.
We are actively seeking funding to expand this initiative in 2026 and beyond—with new projects planned to continue supporting and celebrating the artistic voices of Ohio’s women.
