| Women of Ohio is coming to Granville for a special evening of poetry, conversation and community at Village Wine Co. on Saturday 22 August at 6.30pm. |
Last week I posted about a special event for Women of Ohio in Cincinnati. This week, I have news of a celebration in Granville!
We’re delighted that poet Julia Kolchinsky will join us as our featured reader. The evening will introduce the Women of Ohio project, which remembers and celebrates the lives of Ohio women through poetry and art, and will offer a chance to hear more about the project and how writers and artists can become involved.
There will also be an open mic for work inspired by Ohio women. We’d love to hear poems and other short pieces celebrating, remembering or responding to women connected with the state — whether well-known historical figures, family members, community figures, artists, activists, writers, or women whose stories deserve to be heard.
If you’d like to take part in the open mic, please email womenofohio@gmail.com to reserve a slot.
The event is also an opportunity to meet other writers and members of the local community, share ideas, and find out more about future opportunities to contribute to Women of Ohio.
Saturday 22 August, 6.30pm
Village Wine Co.
126 S Main St, Granville, OH 43023
Come along, bring a poem if you have one, and help us celebrate the remarkable lives and stories of Ohio women.
With thanks to the Ohio Arts Council for their generous support.
